Help Your Kids Brush Their Way to a Longer Life!
Did you know that proper brushing and flossing can actually increase the length of a person’s life? This has been the subject of a number of studies. Why is good dental health connected to a person’s lifespan? Here are just a few of the reasons.
The Link Between Oral Hygiene and a Longer Life
According to a paper published in March of 2016, each level of tooth loss leads to a 15% increase in the risk of premature death due to strokes and cardiovascular problems. A person with no original teeth has a 50% greater risk of developing cardiovascular disease. This information was based on research involving more than 15,000 people from 39 different countries, showing the oral health is important for everyone.
Other research has linked gum disease with everything from heart disease to diabetes. This shows the importance of flossing when it comes to longevity because flossing gets to bacteria that is below the gumline and won’t be cleared away by brushing alone.
Give Your Kids the Best Start in Life
Every parent wants his or her children to get the best start in life. Encouraging proper oral hygiene is an important part of that parental training.
