Pediatric Dentistry is a dental specialty recognized by the American Dental Association and encompasses comprehensive dental care for children of all ages, from infancy through adolescence. A pediatric dentist is a practitioner who has completed an additional two years of extensive post-doctoral training in the diagnosis and treatment of children’s dental and orthodontic problems. This specialty training includes preventative techniques, child psychology, behavior guidance, pediatric-specific restorative dentistry, various sedation techniques, interceptive orthodontic care, and the treatment of children with special needs.
